At first, when you arrive, you usually don't know the city at all. Making an appointment to see an apartment opens up opportunities to see the city, to discover more!

I walked around to reach each apartment and observed the chaos that is in Naples. There are so many amazing things here, beautiful buildings, churches, stores... Something indescribable!!! Adding to the beautiful sights is the sound of the street, the real, live music of Naples, something that completes the whole picture of the city.

My own experience is amazing... Each owner surprised me very positively! Showing Naples from the side of the locals and amiable people.

The first one, after showing me his apartment, started talking to me in English (which is rare there). He described to me in detail the neighborhood, every nook, and cranny, every possibility for shopping, dining, pharmacies, etc. He then escorted me to the metro station and invited me for my FIRST espresso in Naples, even explained to me how to drink it the right way.

First espresso

For the uninitiated. You get water and coffee (in a tiny cup). You take a sip of water first, rinse your mouth, and wait a bit, as the coffee is a bit hot. And you take that coffee sip, full of flavor, full of aroma and so refreshing. Finally, you sip the water. The whole “ceremony” lasts maybe a minute. But how it brings people together. Foremost, you talk to the bartender, and then you talk to the rest of the world!!!

I think the second guy surprised me even more! It started the same way, he waited for me outside and led me upstairs to the apartment. Amazing view, a short conversation about daily life, about the place. That I was curious about the neighborhood, I asked him about the area near the apartment. He came there with a Vespa and offered me a little trip to Piazza Garibaldi! After three days in Naples, I got on the Vespa.... and it was crazy!!! To this day I don't know how they manage to survive on the street.

Another charming Neapolitan, a little more aged after showing me his apartment, just so I wouldn't be left alone in an apartment only with guys, knocked on the neighbors, where only female students lived. He immediately introduced us to each other. He was so cheerful and smiling, and without knowing me, he introduced me to them in the best way. Then we shared a short walk in Chia (zone in Naples), he showed me the supermarket and invited me for my second espresso (I must add that we got lost in the store.... we couldn't find our way to the exit...) Ana finally recommended a good trattoria where I could eat good Italian food cheaply.

And there are more stories like this... Amazing people, so warm, caring, kind, and open to others. They will chat, even if you are foreign and still can't speak their language fluently. They just radiate goodness.
